TIPS FOR A FRESHMAN
While you are not well versed in the numbering of offices, make it a rule to come 10-15 minutes earlier. If you are not late for class, you will not violate the internal rules that are common to all students.
You need to know the curator by sight. This is exactly the person who will help you quickly solve various issues. At the first meeting, write down his last name, first name, patronymic, contact phone number. Tell the curator about your achievements, what you can do, what you can do, share with him your thoughts about what you want to prove yourself in.
On the first day, find the class schedule of your group on the information board (remember the code of the specialty and course) and rewrite it. We do not recommend using the first notebook that comes to hand for this purpose. Create a diary (in any format) to record important information. The college schedule may change, so double-check it again.
With a notebook in your hands, go around the entire college building. Find out what time the canteen is open. Create chat groups with your fellow students, write down phone numbers and email addresses. Do not hesitate to call them to clarify the schedule, to warn them about their absence from class.
The college library has educational literature that will help you prepare for classes in a high-quality way. There is also an electronic reading room. The library is served upon presentation of a student ID card.
You should have a separate notebook for each subject. On the back of the cover, write down the last name, first name and patronymic of the teacher leading the subject. Keep your notes accurate and timely. Remember that the notebook characterizes the student. Also, «in reserve» put the pens in the bag. It is useful to carry colored markers to highlight important information.
Remember that the preparation for the session begins with the first lesson. Systematically study subjects: regularly study notes, independently read additional material, work through the most difficult questions.
In the classroom, work actively: speak with additions, clarifications, ask questions. In case of difficulties, contact the teacher. Do your homework every time.
Don’t miss classes! Remember that there is a strict record of those present and absent. If you missed a school day for a good or disrespectful reason, you will have to work out every lesson. In case of illness, study the missed topics on your own every day to get an individual task on the way out and complete it successfully.
Behave yourself. Be correct, courteous in dealing with others. Respect other people’s opinions.
Live and think positively. Do not waste your energy on unnecessary experiences. Show yourself in the student life! Show your talents! Remember that you need to combine academic and social work. Be an active participant in events, contests, and viewing events.
